CATSU T07 Excavator Tilt Rotator Installed on a Carter CT60-9 in New Zealand

CATSU T07 Excavator Tilt Rotator Installed on a Carter CT60-9 in New Zealand

A customer in New Zealand has completed the installation of a CATSU T07 tiltrotator on a Carter CT60-9 excavator.

The customer’s workshop photo shows the complete machine with hydraulic lines routed along the boom and arm. The CATSU T07 is installed between the excavator connection and a hydraulically powered work tool, demonstrating how the system can support more than conventional bucket applications.

The Carter CT60-9 is a compact excavator in the 6-tonne class. For this installation, the CATSU T07 was supplied with an S40/S40 interface configuration.

    Building a Complete Attachment System

A correctly selected excavator tilt rotator must work as part of the complete machine rather than as an independent component.

The excavator model, pin dimensions, hydraulic pressure, oil flow, electrical system, hose routing, quick-coupler interface, and intended work tools all need to be reviewed before installation.

The New Zealand customer’s photo shows careful hydraulic routing across the machine. The hoses follow the excavator arm and connect to the working end, where the T07 controls the orientation of the attachment.

This arrangement allows the tilt rotator to provide continuous rotation and bidirectional tilt while the connected tool performs its main working function.

Why the T07 Uses an S40 Interface

The Carter CT60-9 has an operating weight of approximately 5.8 tonnes. This places the excavator within the normal operating range for a CATSU T07 with an S40 attachment connection.

The S40/S40 configuration allows the T07 to connect to an S40 machine coupler above and compatible S40 work tools below. The exact arrangement must still be checked against the customer’s machine dimensions and installed coupler.

A tilt rotator for excavator applications must also account for the weight and hydraulic requirements of the connected tool. Powered attachments may require additional hydraulic flow beyond the circuits used for tilt and rotation.

The workshop installation stage is therefore important. It allows the installer to check hose length, connection points, attachment clearance, control response, and movement through the complete operating range before the machine enters service.

    More Than Bucket Positioning

Tiltrotators are often associated with digging and grading buckets, but the New Zealand installation demonstrates a wider equipment concept.

By placing movement at the attachment interface, the T07 can change the direction and angle of a compatible powered tool. This can help the machine approach different working areas without requiring the carrier to be perfectly aligned with every pass.

The CATSU T07 provides 360-degree continuous rotation, ±45-degree tilt, and proportional control. The operator can adjust the attachment position from the cab while keeping the excavator within its approved operating limits.

The excavator tilt rotator does not replace correct machine positioning, stability assessment, or operator training. It gives the operator additional control over the work tool after the excavator has been placed in a suitable position.

    A Real New Zealand Installation

This customer photo confirms the completed integration of a CATSU T07, Carter CT60-9, S40 attachment system, hydraulic connections, and powered work tool.

It also shows why selecting a tilt rotator for excavator use requires more than comparing machine weight. The complete hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical arrangement must be considered.

For customers looking for a reliable tilt rotator, CATSU can review the excavator model, interface dimensions, hydraulic specifications, and intended attachments before production.

Contact CATSU to discuss the correct tiltrotator configuration for your machine.
